Returns
30-Day Return Policy!
You read that correctly. We offer a 30-day return window from the date of delivery—one of the longest (we think perhaps THE longest) return periods available in the industry. And, if you decide to return your kiln, we will cover the cost of return shipping to ensure a hassle-free process.
Yes. We have a few conditions. We believe you’ll find them very reasonable.
- The kiln must be in "like new" condition—clean, undamaged, and free from excessive wear.
- We allow you to complete one manufacturer-recommended test firing before returning the kiln.
- Kilns returned with signs of heavy use, glaze drips, significant discoloration, or damage may not be eligible for a full refund.
How to Initiate a Return: Email us at support@potterypulse.com with your order number. From there, we will guide you through the return process.
Exchanges
If you need to exchange your kiln for a different model, we will cover the cost of returning the original kiln. The new kiln will be shipped to you per standard shipping rates. Regarding the price of the new kiln, you only pay the price difference compared to the original kiln. Of course, if you exchange for a kiln that costs less, we’ll refund you that price difference.
Our goal is to make exchanges simple and stress-free, ensuring you get the perfect kiln for your needs.
Cancellations
Orders can be canceled at any time before shipment without penalty. No restocking fees, no cancellation charges—just peace of mind knowing you have flexibility in your purchase. For custom or special-order kilns, cancellation policies may vary. In such cases, we will inform you upfront if different terms apply before you place your order.
Why Shop with Us?

✅ No return shipping cost! Most retailers make you pay for return shipping and pay back the original “free” shipping.

✅ 30 days to return your kiln! Many retailers require returns within as little as 2-5 days. So, yeah, we give you 10-15 times longer than that!
✅ No penalty for cancellations before shipping! Other retailers charge up to 50% cancellation fees. Yup, we eat that payment fee too.

How Our Policy Could Save You Big Money
Here’s a real-world example of how our policy stacks up against the competition:
Example:
- Customer buys a standard 120-volt kiln: $1,600.
- Retailer incurs a $47 payment transaction fee
- Retailer covers $250 to ship the kiln to the customer
- Customer decides to return the kiln within the required 2-5 days.
- Return shipping costs: $250.
- Manufacturer charges a 25% restocking fee on this standard kiln: $400
Refund Calculation from Other Retailers:
- -$250 (original shipping cost)
- -$250 (return shipping cost)
- -$47 (transaction fee)
- -$400 (restocking fee)
Total refund: $653. Ouch! That cost them $947 just for changing their mind.
With Pottery Pulse, the original shipping is charged so the purchase price is $1,850. But if you return it, your cost is $0—not $947.

Damages
This should go without saying, but if a product arrives damaged, it’s NOT ON YOU! We will ensure you get the product you ordered, undamaged, as soon as possible.

Discounted / Promotional Items
If you've received a discounted or free item based on the purchase of other items (e.g., Buy X Get Y Free) but cancel the item the discount was based on, your refund will be less the retail cost of the item(s) given for free.
Come on—that’s only fair. If you get something for free because you bought a second product, but then return that second product, that first product shouldn’t still be free. We can all agree on that.
Purchasing for One-Time or Temporary Use?
Pottery Pulse only sells to purchasers who intend to use the item(s) for their full economic life. Orders placed for one-time or temporary use are not eligible for return under any circumstances.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Orders intended for trade shows or conference venues.
- Orders purchased by promotional companies.
- Orders purchased by trade show facilitators.
As we said earlier, we allow up to one manufacturer-recommended test firing—but that’s it.
A Few Other Things to Keep in Mind When Ordering a Kiln
Product Specification Changes
At Pottery Pulse, we understand that manufacturers occasionally make slight design changes to accommodate production needs without affecting function. This happens across all industries.
If your kiln has undergone a minor design adjustment (such as handle, hinge, vent, or latch modifications), it likely won’t impact performance. If you have concerns, we encourage you to reach out before considering a return.
Controller Specification Changes
Similarly, kiln controllers may receive software or hardware updates between the time you place your order and when it ships. These updates are normal, and manufacturers do not always notify us in advance.
If your kiln controller includes an updated feature or requires a new payment structure for an app, please check with the controller manufacturer (likely Bartlett Industries or SDS Industries) for clarification. These updates are usually not grounds for a return.
