Shipping Costs & Methods

All customers are responsible for covering the cost of shipping. Products are marked with one of three shipping cost structures:

  1. Real-Time Quote at Checkout: Small parcel UPS shipping and/or Less-than-Truck-Load (LTL) freight costs vary by destination. Some product enable both options. In most situations, the product will dictate the necessary shipping method.
  2. Flat-Rate Shipping: The same shipping cost applies regardless of destination*.
  3. Estimated Shipping ($0.01 Displayed at Checkout): This is NOT the final cost. Pottery Pulse will provide a shipping quote after purchase. Your payment will not be processed until you approve the shipping cost. If you do not approve, the order can be canceled without any payment being processed. This is the case with ALL Olympic Kilns Large Capacity models.

*Pottery Pulse ships to all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Customers from Alaska and Hawaii should contact Pottery Pulse to confirm shipping costs.

Shipping to US Territories, Canada, and Mexico

  • US Overseas Territories: Some smaller orders will receive an automatic shipping quote at checkout if UPS delivers to your location. If your checkout is blocked, call us at (866) 522-3373 for a shipping estimate.
  • Canada & Mexico: Pottery Pulse can arrange shipments to most locations in Canada and Mexico. Call (866) 522-3373 to discuss options.

Shipping prices in ads

You may have found Pottery Pulse by clicking on a Shopping Ad after searching online. If the final shipping cost at checkout doesn’t match what you saw in the ad, and this confuses you, you’re not alone — and we want to explain why that can happen.

We’re required to include a shipping price in those ads, but unfortunately, the ad platform doesn’t support the real-time quoting we provide on our website. Our site calculates shipping based on the specific items in your cart and your delivery address — something we simply can’t replicate within the ad system.

We’re also limited to a maximum of 20 distinct shipping “policies” in our advertising setup, and we offer thousands of product variations — from 2-ounce jars of glaze to 64-cubic-foot kilns. We’ve done our best to provide fair estimates across that wide range.

We want to be clear: there is absolutely no intention to mislead. If your shipping cost seems different from what you expected or what you saw in an ad, please don’t hesitate to call us. We’re happy to walk you through the details — and of course, you always have the option to cancel your order if things don’t look right.

Thank you for your understanding. Our goal is always to provide complete transparency — even when some things, like shipping costs, can be hard to predict in advance.

Why Pottery Pulse Doesn’t Offer Free Shipping

Many large retailers advertise “free” shipping, but often add hidden fees for more expensive destinations (big cities, western states, remote locations, limited access addresses, etc.) or apply strict and expensive return penalties. At Pottery Pulse, we prioritize transparency and customer protection.

Why Paying for Shipping is Actually the Better Deal

The reality is, "free shipping" may come with hidden costs. When you see "free shipping" from a competitor, it usually means one of two things:

  1. Returns Can Be Costly – Many retailers that offer "free shipping" heavily restrict returns or impose high penalties. If you need to return a kiln, you could face:
    • A restocking fee between 25-50% of the kiln’s price.
    • Deduction of the original “free” shipping cost from your refund.
    • Additional shipping costs to return the product.
  2. Fine Print Charges for Certain Locations – Many “free shipping” retailers charge extra fees for remote areas, lift-gate services, or residential deliveries, leaving you with unexpected costs at checkout.

How Pottery Pulse Does Things Differently

Upfront, Transparent Shipping Costs – You know exactly what you're paying for shipping before your payment is processed, with no hidden surprises.
Industry-Leading Risk-Free Shopping – Our return, cancellation, and exchange policies are built with customer protection in mind. Unlike competitors, we provide:

  • Longer Cancellation Periods – Cancel any time before your kiln is shipped.
  • Flexible Return Timelines – You have 30 days to return or exchange it—no rush, no hassle. That’s 10-15 times longer than any other policy out there.
  • Minimal Fees, No Unexpected Deductions – There are no shipping fees on returns. No transaction fees. No restocking fees.
