Side Opening Door

Heat treating involves the critical step of removing extremely hot materials from the chamber for quenching. Given that everything in the chamber, including the door, gets very hot, the design of the doors on the HT models is crucial. These doors swing outwards and to the side, effectively positioning the intensely heated door away from your workspace.

Cool Touch Handle

The handle/latch on the swing-out door is conveniently located at the front, rather than being hidden on the side. Crafted from phenolic material, this handle stays cool, ensuring safe handling. Relay Access Port

Every HT model features Evenheat's user-friendly Relay Access Port, designed for straightforward relay replacement without the hassle of removing panels. this is a big deal even in units with a standard solid state design. Why?

That's because solid-state units incorporate a mechanical relay as a key safety feature.

This thoughtful design addresses the unique nature of solid-state systems, which are never fully on or off and can produce a slight, almost imperceptible leakage current to the elements. The mechanical relay eliminates this issue by physically interrupting the circuit, ensuring no leakage occurs. It operates only twice during a firing cycle—once at the start to enable current flow and once at the end to completely cut it off. Unlike mechanical relays, which rely on metal contacts opening and closing through an electric arc in a magnet coil, SSRs are composed of a solid semiconductor block. This construction eliminates moving parts and electrical arcing. For kiln applications, SSRs offer superior temperature control and multiple advantages over their mechanical counterparts.
