The HT Series - Providing a Larger Shop Design

Side Opening Door

Heat treating involves the critical step of removing extremely hot materials from the chamber for quenching. Given that everything in the chamber, including the door, gets very hot, the design of the doors on the HT models is crucial. These doors swing outwards and to the side, effectively positioning the intensely heated door away from your workspace.

This side-opening door feature is a thoughtfully chosen design aspect, greatly enhancing safety and convenience, making a significant difference in the heat treating process.

Cool Touch Handle

The handle/latch on the swing-out door is conveniently located at the front, rather than being hidden on the side. Crafted from phenolic material, this handle stays cool, ensuring safe handling. Its design facilitates one-handed operation and doubles as the door latch, offering both convenience and ease of use.

Relay Access Port

Every HT model features our user-friendly Relay Access Port, designed for straightforward relay replacement without the hassle of removing panels.

To access the relay, just remove the access plate – no need to take off the control panel or navigate through complex internal wiring. This process is incredibly simple and efficient, requiring only a screwdriver!

Given the inevitability of mechanical relay failures, this easy-to-use relay access port proves to be extremely convenient when the need for replacement arises.

Door Shield

The HT models come equipped with a door shield, designed to protect against firebrick damage and to lower the heat exposure on both the door and its handle.

Swing View Equipped

Evenheat's advanced TAP II and RampMaster 3 temperature controls are seamlessly incorporated into the innovative Swing View Adjustable Enclosure.

This unique feature includes an adjustable, swing-up enclosure that allows you to effortlessly position the control panel at the most comfortable angle for viewing and programming. Once set, it can be conveniently laid flat, ensuring clear visibility from any location in your shop. This adjustment process is intuitive and user-friendly.

Especially beneficial for touchscreen controls such as the TAP II, the Swing View enables you to align the control panel perfectly for optimal viewing. This thoughtful design significantly enhances the overall user experience.

Power Interrupt Switch - Equipped

The Power Interrupt Switch significantly boosts safety by automatically disconnecting power from all heating elements upon opening the door, and restoring it once the door is closed.

This feature uses a specialized safety switch, specifically created for such vital applications. The switch is robustly constructed to actively separate and open contacts that might have fused or become stuck, guaranteeing true safety and dependability.

Do you want to evade the issues and upkeep expenses linked to mechanical relay malfunctions?

For sure give strong consideration then to the Quiet Drive Solid State Relay option.

Evenheat confidently anticipates that its solid state relay will endure for the entire lifespan of your unit. It's a feature you'll definitely want to consider!

Understanding Relays: The Shift to Solid State

A relay is an essential component in many electrical systems, and solid state relays (SSRs) provide a durable, reliable alternative to the traditional mechanical relays. Unlike mechanical relays, which rely on metal contacts opening and closing through an electric arc in a magnet coil, SSRs are composed of a solid semiconductor block. This construction eliminates moving parts and electrical arcing. For kiln applications, SSRs offer superior temperature control and multiple advantages over their mechanical counterparts.

Advantage 1 - Increased Lifespan

SSRs enjoy a significantly longer lifespan due to the absence of moving parts and electrical arcing. In kilns and furnaces, mechanical relays are known for their characteristic clicking sound, indicating wear and tear from continuous cycling on and off, often leading to costly repairs. Conversely, Evenheat's SSRs provide silent, reliable performance over the long term.

Advantage 2 - Precise Temperature Management

Mechanical relays are restricted to cycling intervals of 10 to 14 seconds to balance control with relay lifespan. While adequate, this isn't ideal for very tight temperature control. SSRs, on the other hand, can operate up to 120 times per second, allowing for quicker adjustments and more precise temperature control. Evenheat's controls are specifically designed to harness the speed of SSRs for optimal performance.

Advantage 3 - Improved Durability of Heating Elements

Evenheat's HT Series Heat Treating Oven employs SSRs with Zero Crossing technology. This technology switches the relay at exactly 0V during AC power fluctuations, significantly extending the lifespan of heating elements compared to those using mechanical relays. Zero Crossing ensures the heating elements are powered at the correct voltage, enhancing their durability.

Design Excellence - 30 Amp Rating

Evenheat selects high-quality SSRs rated for 30 amps but operates them at a safer 15 amps. This provides a margin of safety and reliability, keeping the SSRs cool even under a 15 amp load and well within their optimal performance curve. This careful design consideration guarantees the longevity of Evenheat's SSRs throughout the unit's lifetime.

Design Excellence - Externally Mounted SSR Heatsinks

Effective cooling is vital for the performance of SSRs. Evenheat addresses this need by mounting SSR heatsinks externally, ensuring uninterrupted airflow. This external mounting prevents heat buildup and premature failure of components, thus enhancing the lifespan of the SSRs. The heatsinks are strategically placed on standoffs, creating a gap between the control enclosure and the SSR to promote airflow and prevent heat transfer. This design strategy has been proven effective, with a six-year record of zero failures.

Mastering Kiln Temperature Control with Evenheat

At the heart of kiln functionality lies effective temperature regulation, and Evenheat excels in this realm through its collaboration with SDS Industries and Bartlett Instrument. This partnership brings to the table advanced design, technology, and performance in kiln control systems. The TAP, a dynamic touchscreen controller, stands out for its versatility in handling various firing and heat processing tasks, showcasing the latest in control technology. For those inclined towards a classic interface, the RampMaster 3 provides a comprehensive control experience with its familiar four-digit setup.

RampMaster 3: Pioneering Heat Treatment Control

The RampMaster 3 is at the forefront of heat treating oven technology. It boasts a four-digit display and is outfitted with twelve program slots, allowing you to store your preferred heat treatment procedures. Its user-friendly numbered keypad and program review functionality greatly enhance the user experience. A key feature is its compatibility with the Quiet Drive Solid State Relay System, which elevates control and convenience. This blend of features positions the RampMaster 3 as a top-tier choice for managing kiln temperatures.

TAP II: The Apex of Temperature Control

The Evenheat TAP II distinguishes itself as a top-tier temperature controller, marrying intuitive usability with powerful functionality and a user-centric design. It streamlines access to heat treatment programs with its clear text displays. The TAP II assists in meticulously crafting and refining your programs, offering unlimited storage without the risk of data loss. Celebrated for its consistent and accurate performance, particularly when used with the Quiet Drive Solid State output, it guarantees top-notch results. Moreover, the TAP II enhances its appeal with easy connectivity to its app, available on both iOS and Android, through Wi-Fi or Ethernet ports, cementing its status as a truly exceptional control tool.
