The Original Personal Glass Kiln - Studio Pro 14
Front Access
The standout attribute of the Studio Pro's design is its convenient front access. Effortlessly raise the chamber to fully reveal its spacious and unobstructed floor.
This frontal entry is ideal for arranging glass: you can easily assemble your project on the shelf and then simply close the chamber. Moreover, the front access proves to be extremely useful for techniques that necessitate a horizontal method, including raking, roll-ups, and various manipulation tactics.
Top Access
The Studio Pro 14 is uniquely designed with dual access, including a convenient top access feature.
This top entry is superb for efficiently loading shelves and forms, offering ease in precise positioning. Additionally, the top access is particularly favored for vertical manipulation techniques like embossing, enhancing its versatility.
Full Firebrick Design
The Studio Pro 14 is entirely built using firebrick, a material highly valued in glass kiln construction.
Firebrick is advantageous in glass kilns due to its ability to store heat at the onset of firing, effectively moderating temperature fluctuations. Towards the end of the firing process, it gradually releases heat, facilitating a very stable and gentle annealing process, particularly over an annealing range. This quality contributes to the kiln's excellent performance.
Like any glass kiln, incorporating a significant amount of firebrick in its design is essential to achieve these desirable firing characteristics.
Swing View Equipped
The Studio Pro 14 features its temperature controls within the innovative Swing View Adjustable Enclosure.
This unique swing view consists of a pivotable, swing-up enclosure, enabling you to adjust the control panel to your preferred viewing and programming angle easily. After setting it, you can simply lower it back into place, ensuring visibility from anywhere in your studio. The process is straightforward and user-friendly.
The swing view design is especially compatible with touchscreen controls such as the TAP II, Icon+, and Icon, allowing for the perfect alignment of the viewing angle. This feature is sure to enhance your experience, combining convenience with advanced technology. You're going to appreciate the difference it makes.
Relay Access Port
The Studio Pro 14 is equipped with Evenheat's user-friendly Relay Access Port, designed for effortless relay replacement without the hassle of removing the entire control panel.
To access the mechanical relay, you only need to remove the access plate. This convenient design eliminates the need to delve into the internal wiring, making the process straightforward and efficient. All you need is a screwdriver!
Given the inevitability of mechanical relay failure over time, this relay access port is an invaluable feature, simplifying maintenance and saving time when replacements are necessary.
Bench-top Operation
The Studio Pro 14 offers flexible placement options; you can set it directly on your counter or bench-top, or use the included floor stand (details below) – the decision is entirely up to you.
Placing the kiln on a bench-top positions it conveniently at waist level, providing comfortable and easy access from the front.
However, it's important to ensure that the counters or bench-tops are made from non-combustible materials and are strong enough to support the kiln's weight.
Plug and Go
The Studio Pro 14 is designed for seamless operation with a 120V power supply and comes fitted with a standard North American 120V plug, ensuring an effortless connection process.
It is recommended that the Studio Pro 14 be operated on a dedicated electrical circuit. For proper supply hook-up, consulting with an electrician is advised to ensure safe and optimal use.
Additionally, Evenheat offers the Studio Pro 14 in various global voltage options upon request, catering to international requirements. For more information on these alternatives, please refer to the Specifications tab.

Redefining Relay Standards: The Solid-State Advantage
Solid-state relays (SSRs) represent a significant leap forward from conventional mechanical relays, which depend on moving metal contacts and electromagnetic coils. SSRs utilize a solid semiconductor block, free from any moving components, thereby eliminating physical wear and offering substantial benefits for kiln temperature control.
Advantage 1 - Unsurpassed Durability:
SSRs offer exceptional longevity, unburdened by the mechanical wear and electrical arcing common in mechanical relays. The familiar clicking noise of a kiln is often the sound of mechanical relays at work. Over time, this movement leads to wear and the need for repairs. In contrast, Evenheat's SSRs operate silently and reliably, matching the lifespan of your kiln or oven.
Advantage 2 - Precise Temperature Management:
Mechanical relays have inherent cycling limitations, balancing between control efficiency and longevity, usually cycling every 10 to 14 seconds. SSRs, however, can cycle up to 120 times per second, facilitating rapid adjustments and remarkable temperature accuracy. This rapid cycling is a feature of all Evenheat controls, including the advanced Icon controller, ensuring meticulous temperature regulation.
Advantage 3 - Prolonged Heating Element Durability:
SSRs incorporate Zero Crossing technology, activating precisely at the zero-voltage point in AC power cycles. This approach significantly extends the life of heating elements by maintaining operation at optimal voltage levels, reducing wear compared to mechanical relays.
Design Excellence - 30 Amp Capacity:
Evenheat carefully selects 30-amp rated SSRs but utilizes them at a conservative 15 amps. This strategy provides a significant safety margin, ensuring the SSRs operate efficiently within their derating curve, promoting cool operation and extended life, a testament to Evenheat's commitment to quality.
Design Excellence - Externally Mounted SSR Heatsinks:
Effective cooling is critical for SSR longevity. Evenheat achieves this by externally mounting the SSR heatsinks, enhancing airflow and preventing internal heat accumulation. This setup minimizes heat transfer between the enclosure and SSRs, with standoffs creating an air gap for cooling. This well-thought-out design ensures optimal SSR performance, supported by an impressive six-year record of zero failures.
