A deeper evolution of Jen-Ken’s long-standing classic, the AFG 18-E 15" Glass Kiln delivers the same trusted performance artists have relied on since the 1970s—with added capacity and versatility. With a 15" firing depth and a 15" shelf, it accommodates pieces up to 10.5" square, offering ample room for both fusing and slumping projects.
Featuring both top and side-firing elements, this kiln ensures even heat distribution and precise results every time. In Glass Fusing mode, the lid elements provide smooth, uniform top heat while the side elements assist in reaching and maintaining temperature. When set to Casting mode, the side elements can be prioritized to sustain steady temperatures up to 1700°F without overworking the lid coils—ideal for casting or low-fire ceramics.
The kiln comes standard with the reliable Orton AF3P 3-Button Controller, providing straightforward programming and dependable performance. For users seeking more advanced control, it can be upgraded to one of three higher-end controllers:
– Orton AutoFire 4000 12-Key Controller – greater program capacity and advanced control
