Proper ventilation is essential when firing gas kilns, particularly for indoor use. Olympic offers durable stainless steel and galvanized steel vent hoods designed specifically for updraft and downdraft gas kilns. These square-shaped vents feature a 10″ diameter opening at the top, allowing a non-flammable, double-walled exhaust pipe to extend through a wall or ceiling to the outside. For optimal performance, vent hoods should be mounted approximately 36″ above the top porthole of updraft gas kilns or positioned to provide enough clearance to raise the lid on Torchbearer gas kilns.

Each vent is shipped separately from the kiln and has an estimated shipping weight of 200 lbs.

For 28″ Raku & Torchbearer kilns, the vent hood measures 40″ x 40″ and is made of stainless steel.
