The CS Series was developed specifically for artists who want easier access when building fused glass artwork. Unlike traditional top-loading kilns, the CS19S lifts from the base in a single smooth motion, raising both the chamber walls and lid together. This creates a wide-open workspace that allows users to position glass pieces, arrange frit and stringers, assemble layered designs, and load molds without reaching over kiln walls or disturbing carefully placed projects.
With its generous 19" x 19" x 6.7" interior, the CS19S is ideal for larger fused glass panels, decorative wall art, platters, trays, multi-layered compositions, and batch production of smaller projects. The expanded firing surface provides the flexibility needed for more ambitious artwork while maintaining the accessibility and convenience that have made the CS Series popular among glass artists.
The kiln features a lightweight ceramic fiber lid with fully embedded heating elements for efficient and consistent radiant heat distribution. Unlike traditional pinned element designs, the embedded element construction helps maintain a cleaner firing chamber by eliminating dust and debris associated with element pins. The result is even heating across the firing surface and dependable performance for both simple and complex glass projects.
Opening and closing the kiln is assisted by three counterweight springs that provide smooth, balanced operation. An extended rear base adds stability while the kiln is open, and mar-proof rubber feet help protect work surfaces while providing secure support during operation. The cool-touch wooden handle offers comfortable handling throughout the loading and unloading process.
Built for long-term reliability, the CS19S features a painted steel exterior, reinforced steel base, reversible firebrick floor, and durable construction designed for regular studio use. Dual mechanical relays help distribute electrical loads for extended relay life, while a stainless steel-sheathed special-limit thermocouple provides accurate temperature measurement and dependable long-term performance.
