Why Artists Trust Pottery Pulse

Compact Enameling & China Painting Kiln — Paragon E10

Description

Built for artists, educators, and studios needing compact, dependable low-fire performance, the Paragon E10 delivers fast heat-up times, precise digital control, and efficient operation for enameling, china painting, fused glass jewelry, silver clay, and specialty glass applications. Its front-loading design, larger chamber depth, and standard 120V operation make it an ideal kiln for home studios, classrooms, workshops, and creative professionals seeking reliable results in a small-format platform.

The Paragon E10 combines professional firing capability with a compact tabletop footprint, making it one of the most versatile kilns in Paragon’s small front-loading lineup. Designed for jewelry artists, enamelists, glass fusers, and metal clay creators, the E10 offers the thermal stability, digital precision, and user-friendly access needed for repeatable specialty firings. Whether creating decorative enamel work, firing PMC, annealing fused glass jewelry, or testing glazes and ceramic surfaces, the E10 delivers consistent performance in an efficient and accessible package.

Inside the 8.5" wide x 9" deep x 8.75" high firing chamber, side-mounted heating elements are embedded into dropped, recessed firebrick grooves that help protect the element while simplifying replacement when maintenance is eventually required. The kiln’s 2.5" insulating firebrick construction stores heat efficiently, supports excellent temperature recovery after opening the door, and promotes stable firing conditions for delicate projects requiring controlled heating cycles.

The E10’s front-opening door design offers comfortable access for loading and unloading fragile workpieces, while the heavy-duty ½" hinge shaft and single-handed latch provide smooth, reliable operation during repeated daily use. The kiln’s built-in base remains cool during operation and eliminates the need for a separate stand, preserving valuable workspace in compact studios and classrooms.

At the heart of the E10 is the SENTINEL Touch Xpress touchscreen controller, delivering advanced firing control typically reserved for much larger kilns. The controller supports up to 30 custom programs with 32 segments each, allowing users to create precise Ramp-Hold schedules for complex firing cycles. Real-time temperature monitoring, programmable hold times, and mid-fire adjustments provide exceptional flexibility and repeatability across a wide range of specialty applications.

Because of its compact size, light weight, and standard 120V plug configuration, the E10 is especially popular among instructors, traveling artists, workshop leaders, and shared studios needing professional firing capability without complicated electrical requirements. Its UPS-shippable design further adds to its accessibility and convenience.

The E10 is especially well-suited for enamelists, jewelers, china painters, glass artists, and silver clay creators seeking reliable digital precision in a compact front-loading kiln. Its combination of portability, thermal stability, and professional-level control makes it equally valuable for beginners, experienced studio artists, and educational environments alike.

Controller

The Paragon E10 is equipped with the SENTINEL Touch Xpress Controller, featuring an intuitive touchscreen interface with advanced Ramp-Hold programming capabilities. Create and store up to 30 custom firing programs with as many as 32 segments each, allowing precise control over heating rates, hold times, and cooling cycles. Real-time monitoring and user-friendly navigation make the E10 exceptionally easy to operate while still offering advanced firing flexibility.

Optional Furniture Kit

Available separately, the optional furniture kit expands the E10’s firing flexibility and includes:

  • Shelf

Current lead times

Please contact us to reach out to the manufacturer for an estimated lead time.

There is currently a firebrick supply constraint affecting several kiln manufacturers, including this model. Because of that, lead times have been extended and can fluctuate.

Rather than guess, we can confirm the current production timeline with the factory before you place your order so you know exactly what to expect.

FAQs - Configuring Your Kiln

There are certain selections you must choose. And then there are options you can click on or ignore. The answers below should help you make the best choices for you.

Which Kiln Voltage Should I Select?

Higher voltage means lower amperage draw and greater efficiency, which can save money long term. 240V and 208V cost the same—most home studios use 240V, while 208V is common in schools or large facilities. Amperage refers to the amount of electrical current a kiln draws—higher amps require heavier wiring and breakers.

What's The Difference Between Single-Phase and Three-Phase?

Single-phase is what almost all homes have. If your facility has three-phase, you can choose either—but three-phase is typically the better long-term option due to smoother power and improved efficiency.

Which Relay Option Do I Need?

Mechanical relays are standard and reliable. Solid-state relays (SSR) offer silent operation, faster cycling, greater precision, and longer lifespan—ideal for frequent or high-accuracy firings.

What Are The Differences Between Kiln Controllers?

The following controllers are used across kilns sold by Pottery Pulse. Not all models offer every option—available controllers are listed on each product page. Some kilns include only the standard controller, while most allow upgrades for added precision and convenience.

Olympic Kilns

  • Infinite Switch – Manual dial control for simple heat adjustments.
  • KilnStar – Digital controller with preset and user-defined programs.
  • Genesis – Advanced touchscreen interface with Wi-Fi and data logging.

Evenheat Kilns

  • Icon – Digital 3-button controller for straightforward firing.
  • RampMaster II – Manual digital controller for ceramic kilns; flexible ramp/hold programming.
  • RampMaster 3 – Updated version for glass kilns with refined interface.
  • Icon+ – Enhanced digital control with expanded profiles and precision.
  • TAP II – Smart touchscreen controller with Wi-Fi, data tracking, and remote access.

Hot Shot Kilns

  • Novus – “Set & Go” controller: set a target temperature and it does the rest (no segments).
  • Spark – Entry-level touchscreen controller with intuitive operation and limited program control.
  • TAP II – Smart touchscreen controller with Wi-Fi and real-time monitoring.

Jen-Ken Kilns

  • Orton AF3P 3-Button – Reliable and straightforward for basic firing.
  • Orton AutoFire 4000 12-Key – Expanded program capacity and fine control.
  • Orton AutoFire Slide Touchscreen – Modern, responsive touchscreen interface.
  • TAP II Touchscreen Smart Controller – Wi-Fi connectivity and real-time data tracking.

What Are Collars For?

Not all kilns can use a collar, but Olympic’s Hot Box kilns can be ordered with a collar to expand versatility. A blank collar simply adds height to the firing chamber, while a bead collar adds the same height and includes a built-in bead or annealing door for quick-access lampwork projects.

What Does The Power Interrupt Switch Do?

This safety feature automatically cuts power to the heating elements whenever the kiln lid or door is opened. It prevents accidental burns, protects elements, and resumes power only when safely closed. (Also called an automatic lid shutoff on Olympic kilns.)
